As well as being rich in the immunity-boosting antioxidant zinc, pine nuts contain high levels of anti-inflammatory polyunsaturated fats, which help to maintain low cholesterol and promote a healthy heart. They are high in immunity-boosting vitamin E, which helps to protect against damage, caused by pollution and other toxins, and is needed by the immune system’s antibodies to fight disease. In addition, pine nuts are a good source of magnesium, which helps to calm allergic reactions.

Pine nuts are also nature’s only source of pinoleic acid, which stimulates the secretion of a hormone in the gut that sends messages to the brain indicating that you are full.
