Natural Food Energy | Banana nutrition and health benefits. Banana Nutrition packed with energy-giving carbohydrate and heart-healthy potassium. The health benefits of banana include helping with weight loss. Bananas are a very good source of vitamin B6 and a good source of manganese, vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber and extremely healthy and delicious.
A banana is often a favorite fruit of babies and children and in adult life can trigger feelings of being safe and nurtured. Rich in healthy carbo hydrates, bananas are ideal when you crave comfort foods, as they feel enjoyably self-indulgent and they’re stuffed with nutrients that soothe and lift your mood.
They contain tryptophan, which the body converts to serotonin to ease depression and promote peaceful sleep. Bananas contain high levels of B-vitamins, which the body needs to produce energy.
These include vitamin B5, which aids the formation of the immune systems killer cells, and B6, which improves the body’s ability to clear away waste matter and reduces fatigue and premenstrual symptoms.
Bananas are also a good source of immunity-enhancing vitamin C and contain manganese, which works with this vitamin to pro duce the virus-fighting substance interferon.
They are high in potassium, which regulates body fluids and nerve function. As well as maintaining healthy nerve and muscle function, bananas lower blood pressure and protect against heart disease by maintaining fluid balance and preventing plaque from sticking to artery walls.
They are also rich in fiber, and are therefore highly beneficial to the digestive tract, soothing and helping to restore normal function after constipation or diarrhea.
Bananas contain FOS (fructo-oligo-saccharides), which help to feed “good” bacteria in the gut and to aid digestion, and they act as antacids, useful for heartburn or ulcers.
Ripe bananas contain the ideal carbohydrate combination to replace muscle glycogen before or during exercise, making them valuable food for athletes. Glucose, the most easily digested sugar, is immediately absorbed into the bloodstream for instant energy, While the fructose in bananas is absorbed more slowly, providing a steady supply of fuel over time. Banana skins can soften corns and calluses.
The ultimate fast food, bananas provide a potent mix of Vitamins, Minerals, and carbohydrates.
